AYLSHAM CARE TRUST (ACT) is a non-profitmaking charity founded in 1985 by Rees Coghlan based at the ACT Centre, St. Michael’s Avenue, Aylsham. ACT provides a wide range of services for this area of North Norfolk which is challenged by significant health and other problems such as mental health issues, physical illnesses as well as additional barriers such as increasing personal and social isolation. It offers a wide range of activity and support which encourages the individual to feel empowered and to remain in control of their lives.

Clubs and Groups

Many clubs and groups have already joined us e.g. NNCCG, NCH&C (NHS Trust), (Wellbeing (NHS) Counselling, Mustard Seed Counselling, Norfolk Recovery Partnership (Matthew Project), Aylsham Bridge Club, Aylsham Art and Crafts (Tuesday Group), Broadland School of Dance, Pilates, Aylsham Water Colour Club, Fitness Class, Slimming World, Aylsham Table Tennis Club, CST (Dementia Group), Thursday Centre Activity, Chiropody, Photography Club, ADD, etc. If you want details of these activities or want to talk to us about your own clubs or group needing a venue. Luncheon Clubs

Providing hot freshly cooked lunches held every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Venues for these are Maingay House. The Methodist Hall, Bure Valley House and Jubilee Close, Cawston & ACT Centre. Orange Blossom Cafe

Offers freshly prepared hot meals and cold drinks as well as providing a warm welcome to all visitors in an attractive seating area.

Open: 10 am to 4 pm (M-F) Saturday – 9:30 am – 1:30 pm

Social Outings

Throughout the year we provide many outings to local events and places of interest using our minibuses. These outings can provide a great social event for people who need company or maybe have a health or mobility problem. These trips are really popular and enjoyable. Tel. ACT 01263 733385

Shopping Trips

The ACT minibus service brings people into Aylsham from the outskirts of town

Essential Car Transport Services

Our transport service provided by volunteer private car owners, (all DBS checked), is always in great demand and helps people access essential health and other care services. Just call Jess Holland for all transport needs: Tel 01263 734 578 (Mon-Fri, 9 am- 1 pm)

Pastoral Care

In line with our Christian ethos, and as well as holding our Sunday Services, ACT provides pastoral care in other situations, including prayer, pastoral visit and home communion. Phone Rev Patrick Coghlan, Tel. 01263 738938

4C’s Counselling Services

Offers a safe and confidential counselling by qualified Christian male and female counsellors for all types of trauma and distress. Our counselling room offers a relaxing and comfortable environment. Personal Assistant service/Handy Hands

Provide a whole range of support services helping people on a one off basis or supporting them with tasks to enable them to retain their independence. e.g. help with shopping, cleaning, cutting hedges, gardening, cooking etc. and/or just offering company and a ready ear. Coffee Mornings

The Pop-In coffee Morning held every Thursday morning between 9:00a.m. and 11.00a.m. at the Town hall provides a regular meeting place for people to have a cup of tea or coffee and a chat. Just call in and enjoy. A time to go shopping as well. For transport phone ACT Centre 01263 733385

Art & Crafts Plus

is a club which will offer a range of Art and Crafts along with other activities such as reminiscence, music, films suited especially for people who need extra support with their physical and mental health issues. Ring Jess Holland Tel 01263 733 385 for further details.

Sunday Services

The ACT centre will be the venue for Sunday “Songs of Praise” services led by Rev. Patrick Coghlan. These will be generally held at 3.00pm once a month followed by a light refreshments. Minibuses with wheelchair tail lifts will be available to collect and drop off anyone who needs transport, (subject to availability). Call General Enquiries, Tel. 01263 733 385
